Catholic Schools Week 2018
Dear Parents and Families –
It’s time for Catholic Schools Week! We celebrate the best of Queen of the Universe School and ask you to share the good news about what a great little school we have over here in the corner of West Lawn. Here is a list of activities taking place this week. Some are for families, some are for students, and some are for teachers. We hope to see everyone at mass on Sunday and at the school afterwards!
Sunday – January 28, 2018
Catholic Schools Week Kick-off at Queen of the Universe School
Family Mass - 11:00 English – Celebrating Catholic Schools with students and staff.
(Students who wear their school uniform to mass will receive a ticket for a free dress down day on Monday, January 29th from their homeroom teacher.)
Open House – Noon until 2:00 PM
Registration opportunities, Book Fair, Refreshments, Free Raffle,
Tours given by 8th Grade Student Ambassadors
School Tours for interested families after the 9:30 and 12:30 Spanish Masses.

Spelling Bee in the afternoon – Grades 4-8
Tuesday – January 30, 2018
Student Appreciation Day
Pajama Day and Movie in the hall
(Students may dress in pajamas and will be treated to an all-school movie in the hall.)
Wednesday – January 31, 2018
Teacher Appreciation Day
College and Career Readiness Day
Students should wear shirts from a high school, college, or university.
Thursday - February 1, 2018
Grandparents Day – Reception after 8:00 Mass
(Grandparents join their grandkids at 8:00 Mass
and then join them for a little breakfast afterward in the parish hall.)
Thank you Thursday – Students will create thank-you cards
for people who help make our school special every day.
Friday – February 2, 2018
Queens School Spirit Day Contest
with All School Dance Breaks
(Students can wear jeans and any Queens shirts.
We will be holding a contest for “Most School Spirit” –
including spiritwear and props. Winners will be announced in the afternoon.)
Shadow Day for prospective students.
Student Council Valentine’s Dance after school for Junior High
