About me
Hello, my name is Sarah Hoelscher and I am the 8th-grade Homeroom, Religion, and 7th & 8th grade Humanities teacher here at Queen of the Universe, and I’m also the Junior High Language Arts teacher. I received my Associate Degree from Moraine Valley, and my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Saint Xavier University. Over the course of the year, with E/LA, the junior high students will all complete different novel and short story studies. These studies will combine group and independent work, comprehension and critical thinking assignments, creative projects, and presentations. The students will also work on their writing skills through various essays and assignments. Each junior high student will be responsible for completing several independent reading projects over the course of the year. I will provide them with due dates and instructions. My goal is to support each of my students in making the most out of their academic careers. I will help them discover their strengths and build up their skills so that they can all be strong and self-assured readers and writers.
